Super Citizens
Each month we highlight a "Principle of American Citizenship". A student from every class will be selected as the "Super Citizen" and will be recognized for demonstrating excellent citizenship. This year, Super Citizens will celebrate with juice and muffins! Parents will be invited to join in the celebration! They will also receive yard signs to take home for the month to let everyone in their neighborhoods know they are the K.E.S. Supers Citizens! We really appreciate our wonderful PTA for all they do for our Super Citizens Program!

KELSO THE FROG
The "Kelso's Choice" conflict management curriculum is taught to all of our students during classroom guidance lessons. Kelso's Choice teaches children how to resolve conflicts and small problems peacefully and responsibly. The program helps students to determine the difference between small and big problems, so that they will learn when to solve problems on their own and when to ask for help from an adult they trust. The strategies they learn are excellent life-long skills for problem-solving. The strategies they learn to choose from include: talk it out, wait and cool off, make a deal, ignore it, walk away, go to another game, share and take turns, apologize, and tell them to stop. Ask your child to tell you about Kelso!
